 JD 5320 wont start

My JD 5320 Diesel tractor had been running fine. Then the other morning it started up as usual ran for about a minute and then shut down. Since then I haven't been able to restart it. I have tried the following:
Made sure fuel was coming from fuel filter. Jumper wired the fuel shut off solonoid. Changed injector pump. I am still not getting any fuel out of the new injector pump. Does anyone have any ideas. This is a 2000 tractor with 820 hrs.

Thank You

Start with the basics. The electric shut off is not the only one, there is usually a mechanical one as well, a knob you pull out on the dashboard.

Best of luck.

Have you check the fuel tank sump pick up for blockage or debry/crud? Fuel may flow to and through the fuel filter but it a bunch of crud and/or water is in the bottom of the fuel tank; it could be getting sucked into the fuel tank sump pick up screen if your tractor fuel system is so configured. That would account for the engine shutting down on its own. You could try drawing off a few quarts of fuel from the tank drain to clear it out. Are you at least getting fuel smoke when you attempt a start? That would indicate that you are at least getting fuel. If not, somewhere between the fuel tank and the injection pump inlet you are getting a blockage or one sort or another. Ensure the electric fuel shut off is not the issue here. At least on my 4410 the fuel system trouble shooting g order of precidence is:

check for transfer pump function
check for fuel filter obstruction
check for fuel transfer pump volume low to injection pump
check for water in fuel

you could have bad or contaminated fuel. Draining and refilling with fresh, clean, known good fuel will address this. If this is the case, it would be a good idea to treat the fuel with a maximum recomended dose of a good quality diesel fuel additive to aid clearing out any other remaining contamination.

Anyhow, hope I was able to run a few ideas by you to help give you something to work with. Good luck on getting her started back up again and let us know what the final solution was.

Joe, when you turn the key, or jump the selnoid do you hear that heavy clunk when it opens? I have been through a few,you will hear a click but no clunk. Same as you, it would be running fine and then die. Also there is some electronics behind a small door under the stearing column, there was a sensor that went on me once in there and the machine died. I'm not real excited about all this new electronics and sensors. One good thing on the 110 is on the console there is a light that flashes short, long codes when there is a problem and it tells you where it is by the flashing code.

Joe, The 5320 will not have a heavy "clunk". The style of shut off solenoid is different on this pump. This one is bearly audible when it engages. Just curious, Did you change the fuel filter? Did you bleed the fuel system? You should bleed all the air out at the filter bleed screw, Then loosen the line at the injection pump coming from the filter. Pump the hand primer until you get no more air coming from line. Tighten that line and then loosen the fuel lines at the fuel injectors. Crank the engine until you seee fuel spurting from injector lines. then tighten those lines and the engine should fire. You may need to crank a few minutes before you see fuel at the injectors. Make sure you let the starter cool after every thirty seconds of cranking. If you get fuel at the injectors but it still wont start, you may have it installed out of time. If that happened, it might be time for a trip to your dealer. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. Right now I am at the point where I know I have fuel coming to the injector pump. But I can not get anything out of the new pump. I have tried cranking it for quite a while. I am stumped at this point.
