I have been building my own box blade. I have used 1/2" x 12" plate for the box with 4" channel and 2" angle for most of the other parts.

I cut with a plasma cutter to reduce grinding slag.

I welded the box up and used corner bracing.

I used the 4" channel to make the cross pieces.

I had to use the loader to flip it over to weld the bottom joints.

Partially assembled.

Cutting out the ripper shanks.

I welded the rippers onto a 4 inch channel that will be adjustable up and down.

I made slots for the ripper channel to ride in.

Added 3-point hitch pieces.

Need some pins and some paint.

Hitched up...

It works great. I can tell the gravel will wear the un-hardened shanks down quickly.
